Who We Are

Community
For the Community.

We're Amherst residents, parents, skaters, and community members who believe our town deserves a safe, inclusive place to roll. No budget. No staff. Just people who care.

Built By &
For Amherst

All-Wheels Amherst is a volunteer-led community advocacy group working to bring an inclusive, all-ages skatepark to Amherst, Massachusetts.

We envision a space where people of all ages and abilities can skateboard, scooter, bike, roll in wheelchairs, and more — a safe, sustainable, community-driven facility that complements existing town recreation and becomes a local hub for active play, socializing, and healthy movement.

This project proceeds in phases. Right now we're focused on Phase 1: making the case, securing CPA funding for a site study, and ensuring the eventual build reflects our community's values.

01
Inclusive by Design
Skateboarding, BMX, wheelchair, scooter, roller skates — everyone who rolls is welcome. ADA-compliant from day one.
02
Community Driven
No outside agenda. We're Amherst residents working for Amherst residents. Every decision incorporates community input.
03
Free & Open
The park will be free to use — a public recreational asset with no membership, no teams, no registration required.
04
Permanent & Professional
We're building for the long term: professionally designed concrete with a 20+ year lifespan and minimal maintenance.

The Steering Group

All-Wheels Amherst is a large and growing coalition of Amherst and surrounding-area residents committed to making this happen. Leading the effort is a steering group of four community members who have been driving the campaign since its founding of residents who kept bumping into each other at skateparks in other towns, then asking: why doesn't Amherst have this? We're volunteers — parents, skaters, educators, and neighbors. If you want to join us, please reach out. — but the momentum behind AWA is much bigger than any four people.
