We're Amherst residents, parents, skaters, and community members who believe our town deserves a safe, inclusive place to roll. No budget. No staff. Just people who care.
All-Wheels Amherst is a volunteer-led community advocacy group working to bring an inclusive, all-ages skatepark to Amherst, Massachusetts.
We envision a space where people of all ages and abilities can skateboard, scooter, bike, roll in wheelchairs, and more — a safe, sustainable, community-driven facility that complements existing town recreation and becomes a local hub for active play, socializing, and healthy movement.
This project proceeds in phases. Right now we're focused on Phase 1: making the case, securing CPA funding for a site study, and ensuring the eventual build reflects our community's values.
All-Wheels Amherst is a large and growing coalition of Amherst and surrounding-area residents committed to making this happen. Leading the effort is a steering group of four community members who have been driving the campaign since its founding of residents who kept bumping into each other at skateparks in other towns, then asking: why doesn't Amherst have this? We're volunteers — parents, skaters, educators, and neighbors. If you want to join us, please reach out. — but the momentum behind AWA is much bigger than any four people.
We're a volunteer group, so we don't have staff hours — but we read everything and respond to everyone. Whether you have a question, want to get involved, have concerns, or just want to show support, we'd love to hear from you.
